Mary Stenson was born in Tubbercurry , Co. Sligo, Ireland in 1902. Raised in a two room, thatch roofed, stone cottage, she emigrated to the United States arriving on Ellis Island via the ship Carmania on the 7th of April, 1920. She had applied for her visa on the 24th of March, 1920. In an interesting coincidence, her visa reciept was signed by the American Vice Consul, one John Clabby. Although we do not know who John Clabby was, the Clabby clan is well represented elsewhere in this tree.
Shortly after arriving in New York, Mary met her Future husband, Patrick Snee. A dashing, young expatriot Irishman, recently arrived himself. Ironically enough, although they met in New York, they grew up less than five miles apart.
